| | Welcome to CAMBODIA RECORDINGS | | In 1993/94 I began assembling a small zine called Cambodia: A Zine for people who find music too slow. Its primary content in addition to indie music was commentary on the state of today`s mass media and corporate franchised culture and in particular the effects on the state of music in our culture. In August of 1995 the label which my band, craw, had put out 2 singles and 2 full length CDs on had finally completed its long-awaited crash since the two owners hated each other. While the band never really lost any steam by touring ridiculous amounts, we didn`t really have time to find a good, compatable replacement label to put out our work. So in February 96 I decided to start our own. In April 96 Cambodia Recordings became incorporated and in June 96 we put out our first record, the excellent debut by Cleveland`s Duvalby Bros. called the Sleepytime Medicine Band. This fall we`ll release two singles by Cleveland bands and this spring we`ll release the third craw record. |
